This file pertains to the SupraSST 56i Pro modem (SUP2850) and contains the beta V.92 drivers for Windows 2000. These drivers have been tested, but should still be considered beta. These drivers are not for use with other modems or operating systems.

Installation Instructions

You should print this document for easy reference. This installation prodecure is for updating the drivers for the modem.
Installation Process for Windows 2000:
-----------------
1. Download the file to your computer. In your browser, click on the file name,
suprasst-2770-v92_beta_win2k_30512.exe. Your browser should prompt as to where you would like save the file. Note the location that the file was saved to.
2. When the download is complete, you should disconnect from the internet and close all open
programs.
3. RIGHT-click on My Computer and go to Properties. On the Hardware tab, click on the Device Manager button. Click on the + next to Modems. RIGHT-click on the SupraSST modem listed here and choose Uninstall. This will remove the modem.
4. Go to Start > Programs > Accessories > Windows Explorer. In Windows Explorer, go to Tools > Folder Options. On the View tab, make sure the radio button for "Show hidden files and folders" is set to on. Click OK.
5. Back in Windows Explorer, browse to the location that you downloaded the file. Double-click the file, and note the location where the files are being extracted to. Typically, this will be c:\supra. Close Windows Explorer. Reboot the computer.
6. When Windows boots up, it should detect the modem. When Windows asks for drivers, point the installation procedure to the location on your hard drive where the new driver files are located. If prompted for a file, choose sup2770_w2k.inf. Windows will install the modem. When Windows is finished installing drivers, reboot the computer again.
7. If you wish to go back to the original drivers, follow the procedure above. At Step 6, when Windows asks for drivers, point the installation procedure toward the CD that originally came with the modem, and those drivers will be installed.
Installation Verification
---------------------------
To verify that the updated drivers have been installed, you should do the following:
1. Click Start/Settings/Control Panel.
2. Double-click on Phone & Modem Options, then go to the Modems tab.
3. Highlight your modem and click on Properties. On the Diagnostics tab, click on Query Modem. Next to one of the lines starting with ATi3, look for:

These following are BETA V.92 drivers for the SupraSST modem, SUP2770. These
drivers have been tested, but should still be considered BETA. These drivers
will work with Windows 95, 98, 98SE, and Millenium Edition (ME), and are not
intended for use with other modems or operating systems.
Installation Instructions
-----------------
You should print this document for easy reference. These procedures assume the SupraSST modem
is already installed in the system, although the drivers could be used on a new install of the
modem as well.
1. Download the file onto your hard drive. Note the location that the file is downloaded to.
2. When the download is complete, you should disconnect from the internet and close all open
programs.
3. Extract the files from the downloaded file. Click Start\Run\Browse. Locate the suprasst-2770-betav92_win9x_3051201.exe file on your hard drive. Click OK and then OK again.
4. A Self-Extractor window should appear. "C:\SUPRA" should appear in the Unzip To Folder window.
This is the default location. You should accept this location, as the complete set of drivers
will not fit on a single floppy disk. Click on the Unzip button.
5. After the files have been extracted click OK to the "success" window and then Close to exit the
extractor program.
6. Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel. Double-click on Add/Remove Programs. Locate the
SupraSST modem, and choose to remove it from your system.
7. Close all open programs and reboot your computer. When Windows boots up, it should detect the
modem as new hardware and ask for drivers. Point the installation process toward C:\SUPRA (or
whatever location the drivers are extracted to) and they will be installed.
At this point modem should be installed and ready for use. If you wish to go back to an older
version of the drivers, follow the steps above to remove the modem from your system (start at
step 6), and use drivers either from our website, or that came on a CD that originally shipped
with the modem.

These drivers are provided for those who might have lost their original
disks or received a modem before certain Microsoft functionality was available.
If your modem is working correctly with your system, there is no reason to
install new driver files.
Installation Instructions

You should print this document for easy reference.
1. Download the file onto your hard disk or floppy disk. In your browser,
click on the suprasst-2770_nt4_20701.exe file. Your browser should
prompt as to where you would like save the file. You should note the location
(i.e. c:\windows\temp, a:\, etc).
2. When the download is complete, you should disconnect from the internet and
close all open programs.
3. You should then need to extract the files from the downloaded file. Click
Start\Run\Browse. Locate the suprasst-2770_nt4_20701.exe file. It should
be in the noted location from step 1 above. Click OK and then OK again. Click
OK to the initial extractor window.
4. A Self-Extractor window should appear. "C:\TEMP" should appear in the Unzip
To Folder window. This is the default location. If you want to change this, enter
the appropriate location. For most purposes it should not be necessary to change
this. Uncheck the box to Run Setup. Click on the Unzip button.
5. After the files have been extracted click OK to the "success" window and then
Close to exit the extractor program. At this point the files have been extracted
and you should be able to install the modem.
WARNING: Do NOT attempt to manually add this modem. This is a software modem and
requires that you run the appropriate setup file in order to install. Attempting
to manually add the modem may result in the need to reinstall the operating system.
NOTE: You must ensure that you are logged in as Adminstrator only. It is not
sufficient to be logged in with adminstrative priveledges.
6. Click Start\Run\Browse. Locate the setup.exe file that was extracted (from
step 4, the default is c:\temp). Click OK and then OK again. This should open
the Installation Wizard.
7. Click Next to advance from the Welcome window of the Installation Wizard.
8. Confirm that the checked selection is for your modem (you should only have
one choice). Click Next.
9. If the Wizard asks for the location of a file, enter the folder into which
the extracted files are located (from step 4, the default is c:\temp). You can
also Browse to the file location. Click OK.
10. If prompted (in most cases you should not get a prompt), select the country
in which you are located. Click OK.
11. The Wizard will display the name of the modem that was installed. Click Finish.
Your modem should now be installed and ready for use.

Installation Instructions

You should print this document for easy reference. This installation prodecure is for updating the drivers for the modem, as the modem will be installed automatically by the operating system as a "Generic Soft 56k" modem.
Installation Process for Windows XP:
-----------------
1. Download the file to your computer. In your browser, click on the file name,
suprasst-2770-11-v92_winxp_30512.exe. Your browser should prompt as to where you would like save the file. Note the location that the file was saved to.
2. When the download is complete, you should disconnect from the internet and close all open
programs.
3. Extract the files from the downloaded file. Click Start\Run\Browse. Locate the suprasst-2770-11-v92_winxp_30512.exe file on the floppy or hard drive. Click OK and then OK again, or double-click the file icon.
4. A Self-Extractor window should appear. "C:\SUPRA" should appear in the Unzip To Folder window. This is the default location.
5. After the files have been extracted, review this readme in notepad and print if necessary. Close this window to exit the extractor program.
6. Go to the Phone and Modem Options Control Panel. Depending upon how you have Windows XP set up, this may be different. Normally, you will go to Start > Control Panels > Printers & Other Hardware > Phone & Modem Options. Highlight the Generic Soft 56K modem and click on Properties.
9. On the Driver tab, click Update Driver. Choose to "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install." Click Next.
10. Point the installation wizard to the location that the drivers were extracted to (this will be C:\SUPRA, if you did not change the default location). You may receive a message about the drivers not being digitally signed. Continue through this message.
11. Drivers for the SupraSST 56i modem will install. Click Finish to finish the installation. Now, verify the installation.
