Before installing your card, insert the Auto-Install CD into your CD-ROM driver. Unless you
have deactivated the auto-run feature of Windows, the screen shown in Fig 1 should appear automatically.
If this screen doesn’t appear automatically, you can access the installation by clicking the Start
button and choosing Run. In the drop-down box provided type D:\Setup.exe (where D: is the letter
of your CD-ROM drive). Alternately, double-click My Computer and double-click the Setup.exe icon
in the folder that appears.
1. Click “Windows 98/ME/2000/XP Driver & Utility - USB” to install driver/utility for your USB
WLAN Adapter. You will see Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard for 802.11 Wireless LAN. Click
“Next >”
2. After clicking “Next >”, components’ version of package will be shown on this screen.
3. The installation provides you to install package Custom or Typical.
4. If “Custom” be chosen, you can select package individually. If you choose “Typical”, The
3 packages will be installed in your system.
The 3 packages mean Application, PCMCIA card driver, and USB adapter driver.
5. You can specify a folder name of this program.
6. After copying files, you will finish the installation.

If user has installed the driver of WLAN PC card previously, please uninstall it in
advance. To uninstall the driver, please go to the control panel and click the icon
“Remove Programs”. When a dialog is popped up, select the program “PRISM
802.11 PC CARD” to uninstall the old component.
After successfully uninstall the driver, please press the “Reset” button to reboot
the system again before processing the following installation.
1. Using WinCE Service to download installation file (WlanArm.cab) to the
targeted HPC in a temporary directory. Or, copy the installation file to a
storage device (Flash card) and then insert the Flash card to the HPC and
copy the installation file to a temporary directory of target HPC.
2. Run the WlanArm.cab file from the temporary directory to start the
installation Wizard.
3. Follow the instruction and select ‘OK’; the driver and configuration utility will
be installed automatically.
4. Plug in the 11M wireless LAN PC card, then that the WinCE could
automatically recognize the card and link with the driver, preinstalled by
installation Wizard.
5. After that, the TCP/IP dialog box will be popped up to let you set your IP
address. Type the proper values for the TCP/IP configuration and then click
‘OK’.
6. Run config utility by clicking the shortcut “Prism WLAN Utility” from folder
“Start\Programs\Communication”. After configuration is modified, please
click “Apply Changes” button to save the changes immediately. Please note,
when the utility program is closed, it will hide to system tray. If you want to
run the utility again, please click the icon on the system tray.
Installation Manually:
1. Copy the driver file (Cw10.dll), utility program (cw10ce.exe) and its resource
file (cw10res.dll) to directory “\Windows”.
2. Plug in the 11M wireless LAN PC card, then that the WinCE could display a
message to ask for driver to install. In that time, type the driver name as
“cw10” to install the WLAN driver manually.
3. After that, the TCP/IP dialog box will be popped up to let you set your IP
address. Type the proper values for the TCP/IP configuration and then click
‘OK’.
4. To run config utility, go to \windows directory and start the utility program
“cw10ce.exe” to run.
