Wireless ADSL Router
With Built-in 802.11g Wireless LAN & 4-Port Switch
The DSL-G604T is an ADSL Router designed for office use. This router lets you quickly and easily connect to high-speed
broadband Internet and share your ADSL line. With a built-in ADSL interface, 802.11g high-speed wireless LAN, 4 10/100BASETX
Ethernet switch ports and advanced router functions, this device gives your business a convenient and cost-effective way to
install a secure, fast network with bottleneck-free link to the outside world.
Simplified Broadband Internet Connection
Built-in ADSL Interface and Ethernet Switch Ports
Built-in High-Speed Wireless LAN
With this router, you can easily connect to your ADSL broadband
line for Internet access in your office or at home. This device
automatically creates an IP number and assigns for each user,
simplifying everyone's logon operation.
A standard-based ADSL modem in built into this router, making
connection to the Internet a breeze. The router also incorporates
four 10/100Mbps Ethernet switch ports, providing ready
connection for workstations and servers, while saving you the
cost and trouble of installing a separate Ethernet switch.
The router also provides the latest standard 802.11g high-speed
wireless LAN for ready connection to wireless users. With speeds
up to 54Mbps and real throughput up to 8 times faster than that of
802.11b, the new wireless LAN provides the performance
necessary for bandwidth intensive applications. In addition, it is
also compatible with existing 802.11b and 802.11b+, providing
you with the ability to communicate with all wireless devices
within the 2.4GHz frequency band.
Network Security
DMZ Host to Open Public Domain
The router provides NAT protection for your office and home users
from any Internet intruders and hackers, plus VPN pass-through for
extra security. It also blocks and redirects certain ports to limit the
services that outside users can access your network. Virtual server
mapping is used to re-task services to multiple servers. This router
can be set to allow separate FTP, Web, and Multiplayer game severs
to share the same Internet-visible IP address while still protecting
your servers and workstations from hackers.
The router supports constricted DMZ to redirect unknown packets to
a dedicated server/PC behind the router, enabling a client (such as a
Web server) to fully expose it to the Internet and ensure complete
Internet application compatibility. This allows you to set up web
sites and e-commerce business from your office while maintaining
protection for the rest of your office LAN.

Introduction
The D-Link AirPlus G DWL-G122 Wireless USB Adapter is a convenient Plug
& Play USB 2.0 solution that brings wireless networking to your laptop or desktop PC.
With transfer rates up to 54Mbps you can connect to a wireless network at
home, at the office or at any wireless hotspot. Now you can stay connected
wherever you are and wherever you go.
The DWL-G122 is Wi-Fi compliant, meaning that it can connect and interoperate
with other 802.11b or 802.11g Wi-Fi-compliant wireless routers, access points
and adapters. The DWL-G122 connects to any available USB port on a laptop
or desktop Windows and and also includes a USB cradle. With the optional
USB cradle, the DWL-G122 can be positioned virtually anywhere at a
workstation to achieve the best available wireless signal reception - whether that
workstation is in your office, on your deck or patio, by the pool, at the local
coffee shop, or in an airport terminal while waiting to board your next flight.
The adapter works with Microsoft Windows XP, Windows 2000 and other
Windows operating systems to ensure that you'll be up and running on a
wireless network in just a matter of seconds.
Using its default settings, the DWL-G122 automatically connects to other

Wireless ADSL Router
Using additional Ethernet (CAT5 UTP) cables, connect your Ethernetequipped
computers to the LAN ports on the back panel of the DSLG604T.
When you have completed the steps in this Quick Installation Guide,
your connected network should look similar to this:
Configuring the WAN
Connection
In the Connection 1
window, type the
Username and
Password used to verify
the identity of your ISP
account. Click the Apply
button when you have
entered the information.
Configure Connection 1 for PPPoE
PPP or Point-to-Point protocol is a standard method of establishing a
network connection/session between networked devices. It may be
worthwhile for the user to change the default name of Connection 1 to
something that states what connection type is being used, for example,
WAN_PPPoA, the name used in the example below. Notice the VPI and
VCI values are included in the name. It is not functionally necessary to
change the name of the connection, this is done merely to provide
descriptive reference.
To configure Connection 1 for PPPoE, follow the steps listed below.
Some of the settings do not need to be changed the first time the device
is set up, but can be changed later if you choose.
1. Click the Connection 1 button under WAN Setup to view the
default PPPoA Connection Setup configuration menu.
2. Select PPPoE from the Type: pull-down menu. The menu will
blink momentarily
3. Type in a Name: for the connection or use the default name in
the space provided (WAN_PPPoA used in the above example).
4. Under Options, enable NAT and/or Firewall by selecting the
corresponding selection box.
5. If you are told to change the VPI or VCI values, type in the values
given to you by your service provider. Many users will be able to
use the default settings.
6. Leave the default QoS values if you are unsure or the ISP did not
provide this information.

802.11g Wireless LAN USB Adapter
The DWL-G122 is a high-performance 802.11g wireless LAN USB adapter that connects your computer to a high-speed
wireless LAN. This adapter simply plugs to your computer through a fast USB 2.0 interface to provide up to 54Mbps
wireless speed. With industry standard interoperability, backward compatibility with 802.11b devices and plug-and-play
installation, this adapter is an ideal solution for notebook and laptop PC users needing fast and standard mobile network
connection.
UNIVERSAL SERIAL BUS
Up to 54Mbps Transmission Speed
Compatible With 802.11b
Easy Migration to Higher Bandwidth
Network Security
The DWL-G122 provides speeds of up to 54Mbps when
used with other 802.11g wireless devices. This compares
favorably with 802.11b adapters that offer only 11Mbps
transmission.
Like the 802.11b devices, the DWL-G122 uses a single
2.4GHz wireless frequency, eliminating the complexity of
dualband networking. 802.11g's compatibility with existing
wireless LAN standards means that you do not need to
change your entire network to maintain connectivity.
By maintaining compatibility with your existing wireless
network equipment, this adapter lets you upgrade to a
higher speed at the pace you want. The DWL-G122 and
other 802.11g standard devices can be gradually added to
your network, while the rest of your older network remains
perfectly connected.
The DWL-G122 supports Wi-FiTM Protected Access (WPA)
to provide the necessary security protocols and tools, so
you can communicate with other wireless users
confidentially, access sensitive information or send data
that is dynamically encrypted as it's sent. WPA allows
authorization and identification of users based on a secret
key that changes automatically at a regular interval. Used in
conjunction with a RADIUS server, WPA uses TKIP
(Temporal Key Integrity Protocol) to change the temporal
key every 10,000 packets. This insures much greater
security than the standard WEP security, which requires the
keys to be changed manually.
Fast USB 2.0 Interface
The DWL-G122 is equipped with a fast USB 2.0 port and a
USB cable that connects to your computer, providing data
throughput at up to 480Mbps between the network adapter
and the host computer. That is about 40 times faster than the
earlier USB 1.1 specification, allowing you to take
advantage of the high 54Mbps wireless speed that this
adapter provides.
With USB hot swap and plug-and-play capabilities, the
DWL-G122 provides you with fast and easy connectivity to
wireless devices and users, no matter if they use the
802.11b or the fast 802.11g standard.
