1. Introduction

The installation program will automatically detect whether it is Windows 3.1

3. Installation procedure
-------------------------
1.In Windows, start up "SETUP.EXE" which is located in the "Disk1".
The installation program will automatically detect whether you have
Windows 3.1 or Windows 95, and will proceed with the installation.
2.Proceed with installation as directed by the wizard.
3.In some cases, restarting the computer after installation may cause the
OPL3-SAx setting window (SETUPSA) to appear. If this occurs, press the [ENTER]
key. If there are no problems with the settings, SETUPSA will exit, and you can
start up Windows. If there are problems with the settings, an error message will
appear. The appropriate actions to take for each error message and the procedure
for using SETUPSA are explained in the SAREADME.TXT file that was registered
in the Yamaha group, so refer to this file and make the appropriate settings.

4. Uninstall procedure

For Windows 3.1
1.In the "YAMAHA group" of the "Program manager" double-click the
"OPL3-SAx uninstall"icon.
2.When you restart the computer, the condition previous to installation will
be restored.
For Windows 95
1.Click "Start", and then point to "Programs".
2.In the "YAMAHA group" click the "OPL3-SAx uninstall" icon.
3.Proceed with uninstallation as directed by the wizard.
4.When you restart the computer, the condition previous to installation will
be restored.

3.0 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
-----------------------------
Installing the Yamaha Device Driver for OS/2 Warp Version 3:
1) When installing OS/2 be sure to install the Multimedia Applications.
2) Be sure that your BIOS settings are set to NOT use a PnP OS if
using Warp 3.0.
3) OS/2 will autodetect the Yamaha device as a Sound Blaster* Pro.
Do NOT install this device and remove it from the setup. The
Yamaha driver will be installed as part of the Multimedia
Application Install.
4) Open the Multimedia Folder located on the Desktop.
5) Within the Multimedia Folder open the Multimedia Application
Install Icon.
6) Insert the Driver Diskette and change the source drive to read from
the diskette.
7) Highlight and select the Yamaha OPL3-SA Series Driver and then
click Install.
8) OS/2 will then prompt you that the CONFIG.SYS will be changed,
select YES.
9) Enter 1 for the number of Yamaha OPL3-SA Series Audio devices
and click OK.
10) Set your resource configuration to match your system.

4.0 Driver Installation

4.1 Preliminary Steps
---------------------
The following steps must be performed before you install the 65550/554
display driver:
1. OS/2 DOS Support must be installed.
2. If you previously installed SVGA support, you must reset the system
to VGA mode. VGA is the default video mode enabled when OS/2 is installed.
To restore VGA mode, use Selective Install and select VGA for Primary
Display. For more information on this procedure, see the section on
Changing Display Adapter Support in the OS/2 Users Guide.
4.2 Installing from Diskette
----------------------------
To install this driver, do the following steps:
1. Open an OS/2 full screen or windowed session.
2. Place the 65550 PCI Display Driver Diskette in drive A.
3. At the OS/2 command prompt, type the following commands to
copy the files to the OS/2 drive:

Windows NT 4.0 Driver Installation Procedure
Step 1: Install Windows NT as you normally would for a VGA display.
First click the Start button, go to Settings and click on
Control Panel. Choose the Display icon and click on the icon.
In the Display Properties window, click on the Settings tab.
Then click on Change Display Type. In the Change Display Type
window, click on the Change button under Adapter Type. This will
bring up the Select Device window.
Step 2: In the Select Device window, click on the Other button. Enter source
directory where the Windows NT driver files are located. Press
driver will appear at the end of Models list box. Scroll to the end
of the list box and double click on the driver. Once the installation
is complete, the system must be shut down and restarted.
Step 3: Upon restart, select the desired display settings from the Display
property dialog box. Click on Test to test the newly selected
graphics mode. A color test screen should appear, followed by
the Testing Mode window. Click on Yes to continue. The Display
Settings Change window will appear. Click on Restart Now for
the new settings to take effect.

To run Chips' NT VPM, do:
1. Copy both of CHIPSVPM.DLL and CHIPS.DLL (display driver) to
\WINNT\SYSTEM32 subdirectory.
2. Modify \WINNT\SYSTEM.INI to add the following two lines:

TO INSTALL CARDWIZARD FOR WINDOWS NT:

The installation and un-installation procedures for CardWizard and for the
combined CardWizard/PowerProfiler products are covered in the manual,
"CardWizard for Windows NT, User Guide".
This release of CardWizard for Windows NT requires, "Windows NT version 4.0
Golden", or greater.
This release of CardWizard is designed to work with the, "SystemSoft,
PowerProfiler for Windows NT", power management system. The version
of PowerProfiler must be 2.10.03 or greater.
Warning! CardWizard for Windows NT cannot be installed/uninstalled properly
if a previous version of CardWizard is active on the machine. If the
machine already contains a copy of CardWizard, make sure that the WizNt.Exe
program is not running and that there are no cards in the PCCard slots
before running the Setup program.
TO CUSTOMIZE PLATFORM SETTINGS:
-------------------------------
Many of the CardWizard's parameters are stored in the Windows NT registry
by the Setup program. Some of these entries can be modified to customize
the CardWizard configuration. Note, after changing the registry, the
machine must be rebooted in order for the customizations to take effect.
