Precautions on Installation
-------------------------------
In Windows95/98, if you reinstall the printer driver after deleting, an
error message may appear when printing saying ["Bilateral communication
function" not enabled.], preventing you from printing. In this case, go
to the [Details] screen of [PICTROGRAPHY4xxx TCP Properties] and check
[Enable bi-directional support for this printer] in the [Spool Settings]
which is displayed by clicking on the [Spool Settings...] button and then
print.
Also, in some rare cases, [Enable bi-directional support for this printer]
cannot be checked (unable to select) in the situation mentioned above.
In this case, reinstall the printer driver according to the following
procedures:
1. Open the [Details] screen of [PICTROGRAPHY4xxx TCP Properties] and
change [Print to the following port:] to a port other than [PICTRO
TCPx: FUJIFILM PICTRO TCP Port]
2. Click on the [Delete Port*] button and delete [PICTRO TCPx: FUJIFILM
PICTRO TCP Port].
3. Delete [PICTROGRAPHY4xxx TCP]iPrinter driverjfrom the [Printers]
folder.
4. Restart the computer.
5. Reinstall the PICTROGRAPHY4000II/4500 TCP Printer driver.
For the printer driver installation procedure, please refer to the
instruction manual attached.
6. Restart the computer.
In Windows, when you go on installing the printer driver by selecting
[Local printer] after beginning the installation by selecting first
[Network printer], click the [Have Disk] button on the screen to choose
the printer and its manufacturer.
If a screen appeared during the installation asking you "Do you want to
keep the existing driver or use the new one?", check [Replace existing
driver] and go to the next step.
If you installed the printer in any other procedure than mentions above,
an error message "Bilateral communication function not enabled." may
appear when you try to print something, and you cannot print it.

Notes on Upgrading the Printer Driver

Follow the steps below to upgrade the printer driver.
1. Uninstall the current printer driver.
2. Restart the computer.
3. Install the new printer driver.
4. Restart the computer.
For details in installing and uninstalling the printer driver software,
please refer to the supplied instruction manual.
Follow the steps below to upgrade the printer driver when it is installed
only on the network printer on a Windows NT4.0/2000/XP-based network.
1. Set the [PICTROGRAPHY 3500/4000II/4500 Network Adapter Printer Driver]
CD-ROM into the computer.
2. Double click "UPDATE.EXE" in the folder on the CD-ROM containing the
printer driver for Windows NT4.0/2000/XP.
3. After the [PICTROGRAPHY Printer Driver Update] screen appears, click
the [OK] button to start the upgrade. When the upgrade has completed,
a screen appears indicating that the upgrade has completed.
4. Restart the computer.
If you do not restart the computer, the upgrade will not go into
effect.
"UPDATE.EXE" is a utility program for updating the PCITROGRAPHY 4000II/4500
TCP printer driver file. If the printer driver has not been installed, the
upgrade will not be conducted.
When upgrading the printer driver, make sure all printing has been
completed before starting the upgrade procedure.
