Issues fixed in DisplayLink Mac OS X Software 1.7b5 Release:
- On Lion (10.7.x) systems with NVIDIA 9400M/9600M GPUs a dragged item (icon, window) cannot be released. Apple has been informed of this issue. - Compatibility issue on Mac OS X 10.7.0 (Lion) Preview 4 with NVIDIA GPUs
- DisplayLink driver now supports Mac OS X 10.7.0 (Lion) Preview 4
F. Known Issues
===============
This is a DisplayLink driver release that supports 2D acceleration on Mac OS X platforms.
This software has some limitations:
* No 3D (OpenGL) acceleration - some features of Mac OS X applications that require hardware OpenGL acceleration, such as Keynote presentations, will not function properly.
* On Lion (10.7.x) systems with NVIDIA 9400M/9600M GPUs some applications don't render any graphics on DisplayLink screens. To work around this issue turn off "Automatic Graphics Switching". This issue has been fixed by Apple in 10.7.2.
* On Lion (10.7.x) systems with NVIDIA 9400M/9600M GPUs a dragged item (icon, window) cannot be released. Apple has been informed of this issue. A workaround is available in DisplayLink drivers since version 1.7b5. The workaround is disabled if the System Preferences->General->Security->Require password after screen saver begins setting is set to "immediately".
* On Mac OS X 10.6.x (Snow Leopard) it's not possible to screen capture the content of DisplayLink screens. This issue has been fixed by Apple in OS X 10.7.0.
* Colour calibration does not work with DisplayLink enabled displays on Mac OS X versions prior to 10.6.2
* The primary screen becomes corrupted or other issues are seen when using the DisplayLink Mac driver on Core i5/i7 systems.
This issue has been resolved by Apple in Mac OS X 10.6.5.
Note: Applications that require Quartz\OpenGL\hardware acceleration support will likely exhibit problems with this version of DisplayLink software. Some problems can be avoided by making sure the DisplayLink display is not set to be the main display (the display with the menu bar). If an application refuses to launch when a DisplayLink display is present, try to disconnect all the DisplayLink displays, then launch it and then reconnect the displays.
